Who I Am

Some lyrics from Jason Gray's song, I Am New, really spoke to me this morning. They are describing who we are when we are "in Christ."

Forgiven, beloved
Hidden in Christ
Made in the image of the Giver of Life
Righteous and holy, reborn and remade
Accepted and worthy
This is our new name

This is who we are now…

Powerful reminders. It's so easy, at least for me, to not remember all that I am in Him. I find myself all too often only aware of the ways I fail, the things I do that show I still haven't "got it right." But He sees me in such a different way.

Robin is forgiven in Christ. Robin is beloved by the Lord of Heaven Himself. Robin is hidden in Him, safe and cherished and valued. Robin was made in His image. He made me righteous and holy by the blessed blood of Christ. Because of Him, I am reborn and remade. I stand here, accepted and worthy in His sight. I have a new name, and He calls me by it.

Oh, that those truths would be the ones I look at daily.
