As most of my readers know, I enjoy writing both historical and contemporary fiction. My historical novels tend to be romances. My contemporary novels tend to be women’s fiction with slightly more difficult story lines (alcoholism, marriages in crisis, etc.).
So now I’d like to know, what do you like to read most? I realize many of you read books that are all over the map (suspense, mystery, legal thrillers, romances, futuristic/speculative). I do the same. But for the sake of this poll, I just want to know about your preference between contemporary and historical. If those are the two choices on your shelf, which one do you reach for first? Or are they absolutely equal?
