Another week has sped past me. I don’t know how that happens!
I am once again immersed in 1908 Idaho. I’ve created my little farming community of Shadow Creek and have peopled it with some interesting characters: Pastor Joki, the Lutheran minister, and his spinsterish twin sister Dorotea; pretty and oh-so-young Cordelia White and her father, Edgar, the blacksmith; Nadzia Denys, the widow woman, frighteningly sturdy, who runs the millenary shop; Tulley Gaffney who owns the hotel; Father Jamie, the Catholic priest. There will be others, of course, whom I will meet as the days pass and the writing progresses.
Today, I’m trying to write the wedding scene, featuring a stubborn groom, a heartbroken bride, and a sullen little girl who doesn’t want the marriage to happen.
