What a whirlwind this week has been. I did some good brainstorming on Monday with my Inspiration 8. However, Tuesday and Wednesday seemed to be all about preparing for this trip. Mow the lawn. Edge the lawn. Do laundry. Buy groceries for the loved ones who remain behind. I leave the house for the airport in about 30 minutes. I am all ready to go — suitcases in the car and make up on.
I heard from my acquisitions editor regarding the book I turned in two weeks ago yesterday. She loves it. Of course, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t need revisions. It does. But those revision requests will come through my substantive/line editor. I don’t expect to receive them for another week or two.
The downside to this is that I am just preparing to get truly rolling with this novella, and at this gathering this weekend I’ll be brainstorming the novel that is due at the end of the year. When those revisions arrive, I will need to switch gears again. No wonder I’m dazed and confused half the time! <g>
I read a wonderful devotional today, but until they give it a permanent archive address, I don’t want to link to it. I’ll do it soon.
I may or may not find time to blog while at this retreat. If the new wireless Internet connection is up and running at my hostess’s home, I should be able to. Oh, if you live in the Pacific Northwest and see a lot of lightning bolts between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. over the next few days, that’s all those great ideas being tossed around as we brainstorm future novels.
