I’m not exactly Johnny-on-the-spot with my American Idol comments, given it is already Friday evening, but here goes.
There were three stand-outs, IMHO, on Wednesday’s show: Taylor, Elliott, and Ace. To be honest, I agree with Simon that Taylor could single-handedly put an end to music videos. His moves make me twitch. <g> A friend of mine, however, really likes to watch him sway and jerk and wave about. Different strokes for different folks. I totally disagreed with Simon about Elliott. I loved his performance. Thought it was better than the version on the radio (the singer whom I cannot name). And Ace? Wow, he surprised me. It was different and very good.
Katie asked, in a comment to my last post, who I thought would go home on Thursday’s show. To be honest, I didn’t have any predictions about departures, although I wasn’t surprised by those who were voted off. They weren’t horrid, but they were never going to make it more than another few weeks.
I had to record the Thursday show as I have a class, so I’m glad that next week begins the two-shows-per-week format.
I have passed the four week mark as a Mac owner, and I am officially a convert. I have a large number of Mac-using writer friends, and I tip my hat to them for encouraging me to make the switch. I see now why the Apple is such a favorite of creative types. Who knows? One of these days I may open the Garage Band program and try my hand at writing music. I’m happily syncing with my cell phone and iPod and PDA. I’m backed up to my .Mac account. The learning curve and change in software may have taken longer than I anticipated, but in the end my life is becoming easier.
Oh, and I’m crazy about my w-i-p and eager to see where the characters are going to take me.
Life is good.
