The Chosen Season 3 Begins

I’ll begin with a confession. I have watched the first two seasons of The Chosen at least twenty times. Hard to give an exact count since some episodes I have watched more than others. I catch new things every time I watch, and it drives me to the Bible, as I pray not only this show but also my novels will do for my readers. The Bible isn’t just the greatest story ever told, it is the truest story ever told.

Anyway…

I went with friends to see The Chosen, Season 3, episodes 1 and 2, in the theater on opening day (Friday, 11/18). Four days later, I returned with another friend, eager to see it again.

I loved it the first time, through the laughter and the tears. I loved it even more the second time. I returned home, my heart filled with love for Jesus, amazed that He called the original twelve and amazed that, centuries later, He called me too. I am so grateful to be part of the family of God.

There is a scene where Jesus says (my words, not an exact quote) to the disciples, “If I’d wanted [fill in the blank], I wouldn’t have chosen you twelve.” If He’d wanted the smartest, the bravest, the most knowledgeable, the most religious, the most whatever, He wouldn’t have chosen me either.

I can hardly wait for the show to come to the app so I can watch these two episodes again and again. Not to mention to see the remaining eight episodes of the season.

I have friends who live where theaters aren’t showing The Chosen. I’m very sorry for everyone in that predicament because seeing it on the big screen is so beautiful. The quality of the production—the sets, the costumes, the acting—is right up there with anything Hollywood ever produced. In fact, better than anything they ever produced because the script is filled with so much truth and the power of God’s story.

But don’t be discouraged. It is coming soon to the app, and you’ll be able to see for yourself.

Note: Dallas revealed in a YouTube livestream on Sunday that the old app will automatically change to the Angel Studios app on December 4th. Everyone should download the new The Chosen app at that time. Another exciting announcement was that a new partnership with the Come and See Foundation will allow paying it forward (after December 4th) to become charitable donations and be eligible for tax deductions. If you didn’t see the livestream, take some time to look around the Come and See website to learn who they are and why they came alongside The Chosen.

More good news: With these changes, it looks certain that the remaining seasons will be able to be filmed and to release about a year apart. No more delays of future seasons, God willing.

Shalom shalom,
Robin

  1. I am with you 100%. I truly don’t know how many times I have watched season one and two. I have the special additions with the extra stuff, and I’ve watched all of that too, and really enjoyed it. I have not been to the theater to see it the season three, and I’m not sure it’s still available here. If it is, I’m going to go see it so excited about all the new changes, especially being able to pay it forward and get the tax deduction. I’ve been paying it forward all along. I’ve watched all the live streams, usually not able to when they air, but within a few hours , I’ve been able to watch thank you for sharing about it. I am sure that with your encouragement, all of your readers who haven’t seen it yet will start watching.
    Happy Thanksgiving!
