Elizabeth Sherrill is the author behind the classic best sellers The Hiding Place about Corrie ten Boom, The Cross and the Switchblade about David Wilkerson, and God’s Smuggler about Brother Andrew. She also is a longtime contributor to America’s best-loved inspirational magazine Guideposts, and best-selling devotional, “Daily Guideposts.”
What was your favorite book as a child?
Mary Poppins – which is why I hated the film of that name!
What book did you read that first made you want to be an author?
Probably Fabre’s Book of Insects, given to me on my 9th birthday, because it showed that science (in this case) or any true story could be made as readable and exciting as fiction.
What was the last book you read, just for fun?
The Black Count by Tim Reiss, the true story of the son of an aristocratic Frenchman and a black slave woman, whose exploits inspired his son, Alexander Dumas, to write The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo.
What upcoming release are you most looking forward to?
My memoir, Surprised by Grace.
