It’s the night we Idol fans have been waiting for. The finals. The season began when Idaho was gripped in a cold and snowy winter. Now every window in my house is open to the beautiful spring evening.

Taylor owned this round, hands down. Kat’s song was fun and well performed, but it seemed lackluster in comparison to Taylor. Okay, I’ll agree with Simon that Taylor’s purple jacket may not have been the best choice. But doggone it if I didn’t like it anyway. (Go back in this blog and you’ll find out how much my feelings about Taylor have changed.)
Kat wowed me two or three weeks ago with her rendition of Over the Rainbow. It redeemed her after two weeks of poor performances. This time the song didn’t seem as powerful. Am I right? Or is it just because the first time was a surprise? Still, it was a beautiful performance. Taylor’s "favorite song of the season" was next up: Leave On. Okay, this song was not my favorite one of the season. I thought it was a shaky start but he pulled it off in the end. I would call this round a draw.
The start of My Destiny seemed weak to me. Kat looks lovely and confident, but she didn’t make me "believe it." I wanted her to pull me into the song, but she didn’t. And ouch! She hit a bad note or two toward the end. (Simon didn’t like it either.) Taylor started off a bit shaky, too, with Do I Make You Proud, but he got into the song quickly. He made me feel this song and believe it. He won this round, definitely! (And Simon agrees with me!)
