Well, I didn’t get to vote because I had to watch American Idol on my DVR after voting ended.
Last week, I figured Kat would be gone after several poor showings. But her rendition of Over the Rainbow left me almost in tears for the sheer beauty of it. Then it was followed by Taylor with You Are So Beautiful. I was left breathless; I felt like he was singing it to me, and I felt beautiful.
Kudos to judges Randy and Simon who chose those two songs for the contestants.
I didn’t care for the first set of songs much, although all three performed fine, just not great. Taylor’s was the best in the first set, Kat’s was my least favorite. Third set were just kind of okay songs. Again, performances were good but nothing like the second set. Liked Taylor the best.
I’ve been a champion of Elliott’s for weeks. But tonight, my votes (if I could have cast them) belonged to Kat and Taylor. I’ll be waiting for tomorrow’s results show on pins and needles to see if America agreed with me.
