Did you see the movie Galaxy Quest (a satire on Star Trek)?
In one scene, five humans have gone down to a planet to retrieve a needed element for fueling their spaceship. They see these small, cute, childlike creatures come out of a cave and go to a stream for a drink of water. The humans are thinking how cute they are and almost reveal themselves. Then one more of the creatures comes toward the stream for a drink, limping and dragging its bad leg. Suddenly, the rest of the creatures change from childlike to demonlike, attack the wounded one, and tear him to shreds. The humans beat a fast retreat.
Nothing is wasted in God's economy. Not even the hard times (like when innocent looking creatures turn into demons). Not even what the enemy means for evil. Because God is bigger. He turns all things to good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. That's His promise, and I'll stand on it.
Today, I worked on my presentation for coming meeting (a 45 minute speech). In writing it, I found myself rejoicing over the goodness of God and all He has done in my life. Everything else pales in light of that.
