I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation.
Mary heard the angels singing glory to her newborn Son. The shepherds told her what they had heard about this Child. And Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart (Luke 2:19).
It was good that Mary paused to contemplate such things. But it is also good that David didn’t hide God’s righteousness in his heart. He spoke aloud of the Lord’s faithfulness and salvation. David didn’t conceal God’s lovingkindness. He shouted it to the hilltops. He proclaimed it, loudly and boldly.
Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “The Lord be magnified!” (Ps 40:16)
So picture me on a mountaintop, shouting for all the world to hear, “Yes, let the Lord be magnified!”
