“There is no greater ministry, no higher calling, no better investment than prayer… Prayer is trusting God that He can accomplish more when I’m on my knees than I can accomplish on my feet.” –Randy Alcorn, author of Safely Home (Eternal Perspective Ministries, www.epm.org)
Oh, I want this truth to go very deep inside my soul, to become part of the fabric of my every day life. For apart from God, I can do nothing worthwhile. Without His blessing and guidance, my writing – and everything else I do – is meaningless. And making my writing meaningful begins on my knees in prayer.
And it isn’t about me. It isn’t about whether I write a book that hits the bestseller lists. It isn’t about whether or not readers praise my stories. It isn’t even about whether I’m happy or not. It’s about Him. May He be glorified in every word I write or speak and every thought that I harbor.
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Thy sight,
O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.
