I'm on a writing frenzy, trying to reach "the end" on my WIP (work in progress) by its deadline. It will be touch and go as I need many more words than I have time and brainpower to write. (I've found myself in this same place in too many Decembers. When will I learn?)
This morning, after I read the book of 1st Timothy, I read this beautiful quote in Streams in the Desert (my #1 favorite devotional as long time readers of Write Thinking know): "Strength is found not in busyness and noise
but in quietness. For a lake to reflect the heavens on its surface, it
must be calm."
I want my life to reflect Jesus, but that won't happen in the frenzy of life. That will happen when I step away from the busyness and noise that is our modern world and intentionally find quietness, a period of time to bask in the warmth of God's love and to hear from Him. Without the quiet, without that peaceful time for communion with the King, my life will only reflect the crazy, hectic world around me instead of reflecting the Lover of my soul.
May you experience His peace today.
