post convention wrap up

July 13, 2006 By Robin Lee Hatcher

I spent quite a bit of time yesterday writing a rant about Christians taking sideswipes at Christians, all in the name of critiquing fiction. Went to save what I wrote. Nothing. Typepad was down all day. Maybe that post will see the light of day. Maybe not.

Then I listened to a radio program that aired last Friday that took a mean-spirited 40 minute swipe at Christian romance and the writers and readers of same. So I stopped everything to write a letter to the host of the show. Took me at least two hours to compose that one. Maybe I’ll feel like sharing that in the future, too. Maybe not.

Anyway, I am home from Denver. Unpacked but the laundry awaits me. I’ve caught up a little on my sleep but am still a bit jet lagged.

Hey, the good news is … rather than gaining weight with all the rich foods I ate while in Denver, I actually lost a couple of pounds. Of course, it could be dehydration after being at that altitude, but I’m going to enjoy it anyway.

Here’s a photo of me with the banner of my fall release, A Carol for Christmas. Have a great day. I’m off to slay a few more dragons before I can get back to writing.

Robin, I listened to that same radio show because a friend was supposed to be interviewed on it. I’m so glad her interview was canceled–she was spared.
Thank you for writing a letter to the host. It was a substitute host on Friday. Do you think that is why the program took the turn it did?
A glimmer of hope–I’m a semi-retired librarian and met yesterday with a branch librarian about a project. In the course of the conversation, she mentioned that libraries are pleased with the quality of Christian fiction today and are purchasing more of it for their libraries. 🙂 It also helps that readers are requesting it.
    Blessings,
    Judy

Glad to have you “back” from Denver! I commented about the rap over at Charis–hilarious. But what I want to say to you, after seeing these two new pics of you, is that you look TINY!! 🙂
    Hope the dragons cooperate.
