I live in a great place. There are lots of reasons I love the Boise Valley, but I’m especially glad for the Christian churches who are so united. Rather than bickering, rather than division and quarreling over points of church doctrine, they have been working together in Christian love for years. Pastors from all denominations meet weekly to pray together. It’s an awesome thing to see, and one I wish could happen everywhere.
Mission Media is also a part of this. I give monthly to this wonderful group. This Christmas, they did something really cool. An article in the Idaho Statesman of 12/19/04 tells about it:
Churches pay off $7,500 of folks’ parking tickets
People cried, apologized and bargained with ministers from Treasure Valley Christian churches who spent three hours Saturday paying nearly $7,500 in parking tickets for strangers.
The effort was part of “The Grace Gift Project,” coordinated by Mission Media and the 80-member Christian Churches of the Treasure Valley. Local churches and businesses donated $10,000 to pay parking tickets for anyone who showed up in front of Boise City Hall between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
