When I agreed to review the Third Edition of Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts, I wasn't sure if it would add anything to my extensive reference library. After all, I have study Bibles in several versions (NASB, NIV, ESV, NLT), plus many other quality study aids in my library. And I have the Logos Bible software on my computer.
But the question was quickly answered when the book arrived. Nelson's Complete Book of Bible Maps & Charts is a beautiful softcover book, filled with full color maps and charts (as the name declares). While it wouldn't suffice on its own for a serious Bible "scholar," it is an excellent addition to other more in-depth works. The color throughout makes it a pleasure to use and helps draw the eyes to things a reader might otherwise miss. Although I don't have children at home, I believe this book would be particularly helpful for young students.
