By now, most of you will have heard the news that Steven Curtis Chapman's family has suffered a terrible tragedy in the loss of their 5 year old adopted daughter, Maria.
Here's a clip from the article in The Tennessean:
Steven Curtis Chapman’s youngest child died Wednesday evening after being struck by a car driven by her teenage brother in the driveway of the family’s Williamson County home.
Maria, one of the Christian singer’s six children, was taken by LifeFlight to Vanderbilt Hospital, which confirmed the death, according to Laura McPherson, a spokeswoman for the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The 5-year-old was hit by an SUV driven by her teenage brother, she said. Police did not give the driver’s name.
Please pray with me for the Chapman family who must be hurting beyond belief this morning. Pray especially for the young man who was driving.
Some of you will remember that my young cousin drove over her eighteen-month-old daughter in the garage in May 2006. Thankfully, the little one survived, but the scars on my cousin's memory may never go away.
