It's all Daughter #2's fault. From season 1 on, she has been a Survivor fan. She has tried out for it two or three times. She would really like to be on the show. She and Daughter #1 tried out together less than three years ago, and they actually got called back for additional interviews — but not for Survivor. Instead it was for its sister reality show, Amazing Race.
Anyway, it was because of Daughter #2's interest that I started watching Survivor (maybe by season 5?). At first I was just watching to see if I thought she would last long. I didn't used to think so. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and I don't think she would be able to lie and not have it written on her face. However, she can be tough. Way tougher than her mom. I think she could eat raw fish or bugs if she had to. Not me. I would either starve to death or be carted off the island having a nervous breakdown. Wimp R Me.
All these many seasons later, you'll still find me watching the show and picking my favorites. Even if Daughter #2 never makes it into the cast. So if you are a fan of Survivor, here is something for you: a detailed listing of the Survivor: Gabon cast. I'm thinking Marcus (shown here) could be an early favorite. Or he could be seen as an early threat and be voted off in a heartbeat. Who can say with this game?
