Nick-Norman/Norman-Nick … No! No! No! Okay, now that I’ve got that out of my system, I feel better.
Tonight’s show started off in a pretty bad way. I like Jasmine, but she wasn’t good for this performance. Matt picked a really bad song. Jeanine was so off-key and over-the-top it was painful to listen to her (and her begging after the judges gave their opinion didn’t endear her to me). Then it was Nick-Norman/Norman-Nick. Spare me. He’s not as annoying as Tatiana, but almost.
And then Allison performed. Wow! Like Simon said, her interview was boring. Then she sang and blew me away. Kris was the first guy that I liked. Wasn’t the best ever, but he was good. Megan was next. She’s different, funky, unique, has lots of potential.
Although Matt disagreed with the judges that his performance was boring, I agreed with them. Good voice, boring performance, wrong song choice. Jesse did an okay performance of “Bette Davis Eyes,” but it wasn’t a wow. Kai was interesting and likable, but he isn’t a top choice for me. Mishavonna was okay, but there were a couple of girls better.
And finally Adam came out and sang “Satisfaction.” Paula was crazy about it, and Simon said it was a mixture of brilliant and awful. I think I agree with him. But he was the stand-out guy of the night.
