Okay, I know that I am very late to this party. Firefly was a one-season, 14-episode series on Fox back in 2002. Later, they made a movie called Serenity. I tried to watch the movie once, years ago, not knowing it should follow Firefly. It didn’t make sense to me, and I gave up.
But writers love “story” and “characters” and when they discover a great story and/or great characters in TV shows or movies, they like to talk about it. So my friends got to talking about Firefly awhile back. Someone mentioned that he tried to watch the movie first and was confused, so he tried the series and got hooked. Since I could stream the show on Netflix, I gave the series a try.
I’ve been watching it while getting in my mileage on the treadmill. It’s the perfect kind of show to keep me walking for 40+ minutes. I. Love. It. And now, with only five more episodes to watch (plus the movie), I am already feeling separation anxiety, knowing that the end is coming all too soon.
Anybody else out there a fan of Firefly?
P.S. I hope you didn’t think I only liked Downton Abbey and such. I’m quite eclectic in the type of shows (and books) I enjoy. As my new passion for Firefly proves.
