Isaiah 55:8-9 says:
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.”
In the above passage, God is talking about the natural man (who/what all of us are when we don’t allow Him to control us/our lives) and about unbelievers (those who have not trusted God through faith in Christ and His atonement). On our own power and without faith in Jesus, our thoughts and ways will never the same as His.
However, those who belong to Jesus have the mind of Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. Therefore, believers can trust that God will reveal His thoughts and His ways to us if we will ask and listen.
Isn’t that an amazing promise?
