February, the Month for Romantics

ValentineFebruary! It’s here already. The month for lovers, red hearts, candy in abundance, beautiful bouquets, romantic dinners, movies that make us cry.

This morning, Amazon released the names of the 20 most romantic cities in America, based upon sales data of romance novels and relationship books (both Kindle and print); romantic comedy movies (digital and DVDs); a collection of romantic music, including Dean Martin, Barry White, Luther Vandross, Maxwell and Miguel (CDs and MP3s); as well as the sales of sexual wellness products, among cities with more than 100,000 residents. Sales were tabulated from Jan. 1, 2013. Here are the top five most romantic cities from that list:

  1. San Antonio
  2. Seattle
  3. Knoxville, Tenn
  4. Miami
  5. Alexandria, Va

Boise wasn’t in the top 20. How can that be, given all the romantic books and movies that I buy in any given year? {{grin}} I’m a sucker for a good love story. I confess. I like to watch them, read them, and write them.

But most of all, I want to live a great love story with my Savior. Jesus is the bridegroom, and He will be returning for His bride, the church, some day. Maybe today. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe not for another thousand years. But as long as my mortal body is drawing breath, I want to be found ready and waiting for His appearance.

How about you?
