Last year I answered a request from writer Amelia Grey to participate in a collection of stories from romance authors about falling in love, staying in love, etc. My brief essay is centered on the familiar passages on love from 1st Corinthians 13.
On Friday, I received my complimentary copy of Fall in Love Like a Romance Writer. I quickly perused the index and flipped to the pages of some long time friends and acquaintances. I found all of the essays I've read so far to be inspiring and in celebration of love and commitment, and I'm pleased that I was able to participate. (Click image for larger version; it includes a list of all of the authors.)
From the product description:
Such are the pearls of insight generously dispensed with wisdom, wit, and emotional resonance from the bestselling authors who write all about it in Fall in Love Like a Romance Writer: The Secret Keys to a Long and Lasting Love. Award-winning novelist Amelia Grey takes us on a journey with more than sixty-five of the romance world's most beloved storytellers whose personal experiences with that old black magic reveal a wealth of knowledge about the language of love and what makes it work—or not.
At turns entertaining, thought-provoking, poignant, and unexpected, Fall in Love Like a Romance Writer is far more than a collection of essays. It is a collection of secrets that contain the keys to a love that will endure. As critically acclaimed author Jean Brashear advises, "A long love affair needs a special, private, safe place to grow and blossom. Creating that space is, I believe with all my heart, both the joy and the most sacred duty of a marriage."
Fall in love and bloom.
You might want to treat yourself to this book for Valentine's Day. Or maybe you'll want to give it to a friend who loves to read romances.
