I finished the “polishing” stage on Book #69 (not telling the title just yet) on Thursday afternoon. When I opened my Mail program to send it to my editor, in came an email from a different editor who was sending me the typeset pages of Beloved (Book #68) which need to be proofed and returned by May 16. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. I have major revisions on a different book (#70) that are due on May 15.
My publisher is getting ready to do a cover shoot for this book I just finished. I had a great photo of a character from the 1920s that I hoped they could use. It turned out to be a picture of Douglas Fairbanks (before he grew the pencil mustache, so I didn’t recognize him). And the photo wasn’t in an acceptable price range so the designer had to go looking for another black and white photograph that would work. She did good! 🙂
Did you notice something new in the sidebar of my home page? A new column called This Week In Robin’s Nest. Here’s what’s there today:
Work in Progress:
Revising May 2014 historical and proofing typeset pages of Beloved, September 2013.
Current Bible Study:
BSF’s study of Genesis and Boise Vineyard’s study of spiritual disciplines
The Wedding Dress by Rachel Hauck
Journal Keeping: Writing for Spiritual Growth by Luann Budd
What other glimpses from my life would you like to see in that column? Let me know in the comments if you think of something. No promises but I’ll sure consider whatever you share.
Well, it’s Friday morning and time to start chasing my tail again.
