Some books are just too fabulous not to share with as many people as possible. And that is certainly true of The Jesus Storybook Bible (Every Story Whispers His Name). It’s been many years since my own daughters were little. As for grandkids, I bought children’s bibles for them long ago. So I easily could have missed knowing about The Jesus Storybook Bible.
Thank goodness my church is doing a six week overview of the Old Testament, taking us from creation (“In the beginning…”) up to the cross (Christmas Day). And the study is making use of both The Word on the Street (a British “street language” abridged paraphrase that is great fun to read; I’ve owned it for quite a few years) and The Jesus Storybook Bible. This morning they played some of the audiobook of the latter, and I was truly captivated. So much so I came straight home and downloaded the audio from Audible.com. (I’m also going to get the print copy of it.)
If you follow the link in the first paragraph, you can scroll down on the Amazon page and listen to a portion of the audio. I believe if you do, you’ll want to hear more. The version I’ve linked to is the deluxe version containing both the print book and the CDs. A good deal at $16.49.
I love to study the word of God more than just about anything else. I know that this storybook bible is going to add a new layer to my studies.
