Hat tip to Cindy Swanson at Notes in the Key of Life for reminding me that my friend, Liz Curtis Higgs, has an awesome page on her web site, comparing portions of The Da Vinci Code with what the Bible says. "Decoding Da Vinci" is one of the best and most easily understood (in my humble opinion) posts on this topic (the debunking of the so-called "facts" in this phenomenally successful work of fiction).
Here’s an example of the comparisons:
Is mankind more deserving of worship than God?
The Da Vinci Code:
"How well do you know the New Testament?"
Sophie shrugged. "Not at all, really. I was raised by a man who worshipped Leonardo da Vinci."
"An enlightened soul. Superb!"
The Holy Bible:
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator–who is forever praised. Amen.
Do not worship any other god, for the LORD . . . is a jealous God.
