I have a deadline rushing toward me at a million miles an hour. Therefore, I shouldn’t be surprised that I would have computer woes. I got a new laptop in May, and I have been having freezing and crashing problems all along, particularly when I opened/used iTunes. For the record, this is very un-Mac-like behavior. I hung in there, hoping that the upgrade to Lion OS would cure the problem. It didn’t.
I think I subconsciously knew all along that I’d migrated some sort of glitch over to my new laptop. If I was right, the only cure would be to wipe the hard drive clean, install Snow Leopard, then upgrade to Lion, followed by a slow adding of my programs. Slow because I needed to make sure each and everyone was updated to the most current program for Lion and that it was working properly.
So, after one too many crashes, I started the process on Tuesday. 48 hours later, I’ve got everything running beautifully. Yea! But my backside is aching from sitting way too much. I’m desperate for some time on the treadmill or a bike ride or just a walk around the back yard.
I did take a break from computer work yesterday to go see The Help. Oh. My. Word. What a great film!! Do not miss it. It has a PG 13 rating because of some language. If you’ve read the book, you are aware of it. If you haven’t read the book, let me just say that you should. Sooner rather than later.
There were about five men in the theater when I went. Yesterday was the official release day, and I was there for the very first showing at 12:10. So it wasn’t a surprise that the people there were mostly women and mostly older.
Did I mention I cried at least three times?
