Crazy days of summer
Forget the “lazy” days of summer. It feels like it’s been crazy in my little corner of the world ever since I returned from California.
First I had a book signing at a cute little bookstore in Kuna, a town outside of Boise. In fact, my mother went to school in Kuna and graduated from the high school there in 1933. She wouldn’t recognize it anymore as it is no longer a small farming community.

Next up was the installation of my patio blind. I’ve been waiting for this for two months. The two big shade trees were removed from the common area that protected my house from the afternoon and evening sun, leaving me with both heat and blinding light. I’m so delighted with the new shade. It’s already made a huge difference to my enjoyment of the patio again.

Then came the wedding of a neighbor. I volunteered to be the photographer, and fortunately, her wedding was over before the temps topped 100 degrees.

That evening, while still hotter than all git out, I went with family to the Old Idaho State Penitentiary where they were having a history scavenger hunt. We had a fun time, searching through old cell blocks, looking for clues. At the end, ice cream from a vendor was in order.

The next day, I finished the Bible study, When You Pray. Oh my. It is so, so, so good. The six authors/Bible teachers have very different writing and speaking styles, but all of them shared deep content. Highly recommended.

In May, I turned in the revisions of The Beginning of Wisdom, a novel about the Queen of Sheba. It’s part of Guideposts’ Extraordinary Women of the Bible series. My book will release in December. I haven’t seen a cover for it yet but I’ll share it when I do.

I thought it would be fun to have a giveaway of four of the books in this series. Just sign up for my newsletter here, then use the form below to enter. I’ll announce the winner on Monday, July 24, 2023.

Is this the “form below” for entering to win the 4 books in the Biblical series? Please enter my name in the drawing. Thanks!
The form is the box that says “4 book set of Extraordinary Women of the Bible”.
We have your books in the Lakes Church Library.
The library is 80 years young. We have books, books on cd, and dvd’s for all ages.
I volunteer in the library and have for 44 years.
We do not have this series of Guideposts books in the library.
If I win, they will be going into our collection.
That would be amazing, Janet.
I would love to win this beautiful set of books. Thank you for the opportunity.

It only gave me one point and nothing else happened when I put in my email. It says there’s a total of 35 entries.
That’s all that is supposed to happen, Misty. The contest ends on Sunday at which time the random drawing will be held.
Thank you, Robin! I kept trying to find the rest of it without noticing that it was all. lol
