Book Club Fun

Book Club

Recently I had the pleasure of being the guest at a local area book club. Instead of all of them reading one book of mine, they opted to each choose a different book to read. It made for a very different and lively discussion that I thoroughly enjoyed, and I think they did too.

It’s so fun, chatting with book clubs. What’s not to love? A group of book lovers get together monthly to talk about their latest read. Skype is great for allowing me to visit book clubs via long distance (here’s info if you would like me to visit your book club), but it’s especially great when the visit can be in person.

My home backs up against a common area, and most nice days, you can find a number of neighbors out there. While our dogs run and romp, we chat, and quite often we are recommending books to one another. Book lovers can’t help that. Which, I suspect, is how all book clubs get started. That need to share books we love with others.

Do you belong to a book club?

  1. I enjoy book clubs. Right now, I only participate online. I would love to participate with an “in person” book club. In the past, the “in person” book clubs have been great blessings to me. This message gives me the desire to search for local book clubs. Thank you. 🙂

  2. Robin, what a great idea ! God Bless you and your family !

  3. Great post. A dear friend and fellow book lover and I make up our book club of two. Online book clubs can be fun, but there is no substitute for seeing the excitement in someone’s eyes as they talk about a great read.

  4. Yes! About 6-8 ladies get together at our public library one morning a month. We pique each other’s interest to read things we normally wouldn’t find on our own 😁 quite an eclectic group! Most book groups around here make everyone read the same book, but I like our idea better!
