A couple of Sundays ago, my pastor said that the image of the oil pouring out of that hole on the Gulf floor reminded him of a severed artery, like the earth is bleeding to death. As horrible as that environmental disaster is (and it's undeniably horrible), the spilling of red ink coming out of Washington poses an ever growing threat to the life of our nation.
The cartoonist who drew the above sure captured that feeling, didn't he?
Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
