I’m sincerely sorry. I blogged on Tuesday and said:
Tonight is AMERICAN
IDOL tryouts, part 1!! I can veg on the couch (after I do 12 miles on
the cycle) and watch some poor deluded souls be humiliated by Simon and
company. And every so often, I’ll get a glimpse of someone with genuine
talent, someone who just might be the next American Idol.
I momentarily forgot that everyone who reads Write Thinking doesn’t know me personally. Not everyone knows my sense of humor or the way I say things. Not everyone knows my tender heart for the underdogs and the abused and the easily hurt. Worse, I forgot that none of you can read my mind. Not a wise trait for someone who works with words.
When I made my "poor deluded souls" comment, I knew that I don’t like to see them "humiliated by Simon and company." But I carelessly worded it as if I did. I am truly sorry. More of my true feelings came through in my open letter to American Idol.
Please forgive me. I will try in the future to be more careful with my words.
