On my trip to visit my publisher this past week, I was given a copy of the hot-off-the-press book, Sarah Palin: A New Kind of Leader. Let me tell you, no matter which side of the political aisle you fall on, this is a book worth reading. I read more than half of it during my flight home, even though I'd meant to sleep or work on my book. I just could not put it down.
I was one of many whose interest was captured by this unknown-to-me woman a little over a month ago. I was appalled at the garbage and hatred that has been thrown her way. I was saddened when she didn't do as well as expected in interviews with hostile, less than unbiased reporters, and I cheered for her during the debate with Biden. But reading this book has elevated her even more in my estimation.
All I can say is, here is the kind of politician I would like to see more of on both sides of the aisle. A month or so ago, I told readers of Write Thinking that it wouldn't hurt for them to read The Faith of Barack Obama (be they Democrat or Republican) because he will be around the political landscape for many years to come, whether or not he wins the election. Now I am saying the same thing about Sarah Palin: A New Kind of Leader. She is going to be around for a long time to come, so Democrat or Republican, you ought to read this book.
I came home with a cold and my elderly mother caught one at my daughter's house while I was gone. So with two sickies in the house, my blogging may be a bit sparse until we kick this thing.
